HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Baytown, TX, is looking for an IS Equipment Operator (CDL Required) to join their safety-conscious team! This team member is responsible for the safe and successful execution of jobs across all service lines and various other responsibilities. The Equipment Operator serves as a representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients and customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions;
- Hands-on operation, when required, of manual and automated hydroblasting equipment;
- Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High Pressure pumps;
- Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized hydroblasting and/or chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment being used on the job;
- Examine surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications;
- Perform routine maintenance on company equipment;
- Perform duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders;
- Direct a crew of vacuum technicians;
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations;
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with all vehicle policies and DOT requirements;
- Load and unload hoses;
- Unload vacuum trucks at the dump site;
- Provide general maintenance in the field;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to execute a 180-degree rotary motion of the cervical spine to allow complete movement of the head and neck;
- Ability to operate with both hands a double trigger hydroblast shotgun and other hydroblast equipment;
- Ability to climb ladders and work from scaffolding and stationary platforms up to heights of 200 feet;
- Ability to tolerate and function in confined spaces of a minimum of five (5) feet inside diameter;
- Ability to hold the back thrust of 50 lbs. on a straight 66” pipe for at least one (1) hour;
- Must be physically capable of using negative pressure and air supplied respirators;
- Ability to drive heavy equipment for long periods;
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment, including nomex coveralls, back belt, slickers, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask, escape pack, and hard hat;
- Ability to work under extreme climate conditions, including high heat index and sub-zero weather;
- Exposure to dust, fumes, exhaust, and pressurized fluids, with respirator provided when required;
- Noise levels exceeding 85 dBA, with hearing protection provided and required.
What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?
- Specific vocational preparation including safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience;
- Proficiency in understanding English to comprehend safety training and respond in emergencies;
- Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A or B, and adherence to company driving policies;
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation;
- Experience operating a vacuum truck; Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device;
- Working knowledge of wet and dry vacuum equipment operation.
