SSC is hiring a full-time Irrigation Technician I in Canyon, TX at TAMU West Texas. The role involves routine irrigation labor, including digging, pipe repair, and head/valve replacement, with a schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Two years of irrigation repairs experience and ability to lift 25 pounds are required.

Pay ranges from $17 to $20 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and same-day pay options. Apply online; openings at other district locations may exist.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment used in irrigation work.
• Applies a surgical approach to all work.
• Maintains professional communication with technicians, irrigation supervisor and the public.
• Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather and other crises.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN I position.
• Location: TAMU West Texas Gr - 2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)
• Requirement: Two years of previous experience in irrigation repairs is required.
• Pay Range: $17.00per hour to$20.00per hour

Job Summary

Performs routine labor associated with irrigation management, including digging, pipe repair, head/valve replacement and small equipment operation.

• Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather, i.e. snow and ice, tornado or other crisis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Two years of experience in irrigation repairs.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 25 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

• Extensive driving, walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen producing environment, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation: 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.
