SSC Services For Education is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role at the TAMU West Texas Canyon, TX location. The position requires strong electrical and mechanical skills, HVAC know-how, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with opportunities to cover multiple sites within the district. Ideal candidates will have a Journeyman license and several years in institutional maintenance roles, plus the ability to lead a small team and communicate

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsabilités

• Construct, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Maintain HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Supervise and lead a group of workers on a project.

• Teach advanced maintenance skills to department members.
• Review external vendors’ work and create punch lists.
• Analyze and correct complex building system problems; work alone or in teams.

We are hiring immediately for a full time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position.

Location: TAMU West Texas - 2401 Russell Long Boulevard, Canyon, TX 79016. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)

Requirement: 2 years of experience in automotive and 1 year of engine repair experience is required.

Pay Range: $18.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions, while providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training efforts, and managing escalations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification skills and licensing requirements as needed.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists.
• Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Serves as a member of facility emergency response team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Must have one of the following

• Master license in one trade or two of the following Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or a Journeyman Plumber License, etc.
• Valid driver's license.
