Job summary

Outdoor Environments Group is hiring an Irrigation Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial watering systems across our outdoor projects. You will perform spring start-ups, mid-season audits, and winterization, diagnose issues, program controllers, and communicate needs to clients while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Backflow certification and state licensing are often required.
• 2–3+ years hands-on irrigation troubleshooting, assembly, and plumbing.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong hydraulics, electrical wiring, and controller troubleshooting knowledge.
• Valid driver's license required to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• System Maintenance: spring start-ups, mid-season audits, and winterization blow-outs.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues, locate buried lines, and repair sprinkler heads, valves, and pipes.
• Water Management: program and adjust computerized irrigation controllers to maximize efficiency.
• Customer Service: communicate repair needs, recommend upgrades, and complete service paperwork.

Role Overview:

Outdoor Environment Group is hiring a Irrigation Service Technician. An Irrigation Service Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs watering systems for residential, commercial client properties. Performing seasonal maintenance, repairing damaged pipes or electrical valves, adjust sprinkler heads, and program controllers to ensure optimal water distribution and plant health.

Key Responsibilities

• System Maintenance: Perform spring start-ups, mid-season audits, and winterization blow-outs to prevent freeze damage.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues, locate buried lines, and repair or replace broken sprinkler heads, valves, and pipes
• Water Management: Program and adjust computerized irrigation controllers to maximize water efficiency and prevent overwatering or runoff. [
• Customer Service: Communicate repair needs, recommend system upgrades to clients, and complete necessary service request paperwork.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certification: Often requires or highly prefers a Backflow Certification and state-specific licensing.
• Experience: Typically 2 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in irrigation troubleshooting, assembly, and plumbing.
• Physical & Environmental Demands: Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrical wiring, and controller troubleshooting.
• Valid Driver’s License: Required to operate company vehicles between job sites.
