Job summary

La Cantera Resort & Spa, located in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a full-time Irrigation Technician to support golf club operations for our members and guests. As an associate of Troon, you will maintain and troubleshoot the resort’s irrigation system and water features, ensuring reliable operation and timely repairs.

The role requires basic maintenance knowledge, ability to lift heavy objects, a valid driver’s license, and a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college/technical certificate preferred.
• 3–6 months related irrigation or maintenance experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system and water features.
• Determines wet and dry areas for sprinkler head adjustments.
• Maintains inventories of irrigation parts and tools.
• Inspects and repairs pump stations, valves, wiring and controllers.
• Reports major irrigation issues to supervisors and logs repairs.
• Performs winterization and system blowout as required.

La Cantera Resort & Spa, located in San Antonio, TX, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Irrigation Technician! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Compensation:

$18.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including the lake re-circulation system and water features.
• Determines wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads.
• Properly inventories and stocks all irrigation parts and tools in order to minimize down time.
• Maintains working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements
• Operates, maintains and repairs a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, computer and irrigation control wire.
• Reports any serious irrigation breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintains a daily log of completed repairs.
• Prioritizes irrigation breaks and uses time efficiently.
• Conducts monthly checks of all sprinkler heads on the entire golf facility.
• Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly.
• Responsible for winterization and blowout of irrigation system, including all water lines, valves and pump stations
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Certificate from college or technical school is preferred;and a minimumthree to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Prior golf course maintenance and irrigation experience is a major plus.
• Must have ability tolift heavy objects.
• Must be able to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize well.
