Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients, members, guests, and co-workers.
• Training and Experience: Experience with chemical applications, pesticides, and fertilizers; valid state driver’s license.
• Job Knowledge: Basic understanding of landscape equipment; experience in calibration, application, and use of agricultural application equipment.

Job Summary

Proactively identify and chemically treat all types of ornamental pests, including insects, weeds, and diseases. Perform all hand and machine work on the property and operate grounds maintenance equipment as required.

Physical Abilities

Work outdoors in all weather conditions, drive a motor vehicle, perform labor-intensive work lifting up to 50 pounds, operate hand-carried sprayers, and work with chemicals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
2. Arrive on time and in proper, clean uniform.
3. Maintain personal grooming standards as approved by management.
4. Attend all required training, safety courses, and meetings.
5. Report and assist in correcting safety hazards.
6. Learn and safely operate all grounds chemical application equipment following MSDS procedures.
7. Gain knowledge of chemicals and their uses.
8. Possession of a Florida Turf and Ornamental Spray License is a plus.
9. Handle chemicals safely and maintain chemical storage rooms properly.
10. Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, weather conditions, and application details.
11. Monitor the property for issues, identify, target, and treat pests.
12. Identify, translate, and map pests and chemical applications.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Landscape Superintendent and/or Director of Horticulture.
