Solid Waste Management in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a field technician to operate and maintain large irrigation systems, including backflow controls, underground piping, valves, sprinklers and controllers on turf and median sites. You will perform soil moisture analysis, adjust controllers, troubleshoot pumps and lines, and coordinate repairs; a valid NM driver's license is required.
The role involves working outdoors in varied weather and traffic environments, with weekend/holiday shifts
Operate and maintain large, self-contained irrigation systems including backflow controls, underground piping, valves, wiring, sprinklers and controllers; perform soil moisture analysis checks and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Work in and around high traffic city median areas and travel city-wide.

High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours vocational training in landscaping;
and
Two (2) experience performing irrigation system maintenance and repair.
Exposure to loud noises, dust, vibrations, all weather conditions and hours of the day; traffic, high speed roads, heavy vehicles; work in the vicinity of high voltage electrical equipment; travel site to site.
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for light to moderate lifting and carrying and standing, walking and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
