The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping a Four-Diamond resort operating beautifully. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, pools, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a flawless guest experience.

This role requires practical skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry, plus keen safety awareness and the ability to collaborate with Housekeeping,

Qualifications

  • Some experience in building maintenance, engineering, facilities, or hospitality maintenance.
  • Skilled in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, or related trades.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify practical solutions, and complete repairs with safety in mind.
  • Comfort using hand tools, power tools, ladders, testing equipment, and common maintenance materials.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, safety procedures, and basic diagrams.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills to prioritize urgent guest needs and routine maintenance.
  • Clear, professional communication and a commitment to guest service.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant trade certifications (HVAC, pool, etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, pools, mechanical rooms, and resort grounds.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests, delivering efficient, courteous, guest-focused service.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, locks, furniture, drywall, paint and basic carpentry.
  • Inspect guest rooms and resort facilities to identify maintenance needs before they become disruptions.
  • Assist with maintenance and operation of pools, spas, pumps, filters, and related equipment following safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Support preventative-maintenance programs to protect facilities, extend equipment life, and enhance guest experience.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain records of repairs, inspections, materials, and projects.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance supplies safely and responsibly.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Security, Landscaping, and other teams to minimize guest impact.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas and equipment.
  • Follow all safety policies, manufacturer specs, building codes, and local regulations.
  • Assist with special projects, seasonal maintenance, event support, and other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.

We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping a distinctive Four-Diamond resort operating beautifully.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, pools, mechanical rooms, and resort grounds.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Security, Landscaping, and other resort teams to minimize guest impact and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas, storage spaces, and maintenance equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer specifications, building codes, and local regulations.
  • Assist with special projects, seasonal maintenance, event support, and other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize urgent guest needs and routine maintenance responsibilities.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a genuine commitment to exceptional internal and external guest service.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant trade certifications, HVAC certification, pool certification, or other maintenance credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards and expectations.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work may take place indoors and outdoors throughout the resort, including in Arizona heat and changing weather conditions. The role requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and moving equipment and materials. Actual hours may vary based on business needs and may include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

This is a safety-sensitive position and is included in the company’s random drug-screening process. Attendance as scheduled is a critical element of every position at The Scott Resort & Spa.
