Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking an Irrigation Manager to lead and coordinate irrigation services for a commercial landscape portfolio. You will direct crews, plan job execution, and work with accounts on estimates, design, and meetings.

The role emphasizes training and developing staff, managing schedules, and ensuring safety and quality across projects. This on-site position may involve weekends and varied hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years customer service, management, and leadership experience in landscaping or related field, with 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses needed to perform work in the local market

Responsibilities

• Understand client needs via regular communication with Account Manager(s).
• Manage irrigation services, materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors for quality work.
• Inspect properties before service to prepare a specific action plan.
• Monitor irrigation system and identify problems after installation and service.
• Perform hands-on work with crews to meet schedules.
• Assist Branch Manager with staffing, hiring, and daily crew scheduling.
• Complete paperwork for employee changes and new hires.
• Coach, train, and develop employees; implement growth plans.
• Provide hands-on training on equipment operation, pruning, safety, and quality standards.
• Focus on safety and monitor safety records.
• Maintain administrative systems like time sheets, job databases, and service schedules.
• Order materials and monitor costs and deliveries.
• Request purchase orders per company guidelines.
• Assist irrigation sales tasks as required

Job Summary

• The Irrigation Manager (IM) schedules and directs personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective irrigation services to clients. IMs also support the Account Manager(s) in estimating, design, and client meetings as needed. IMs will also sell irrigation services to clients, with or without base maintenance contracts, on their own. The Irrigation Manager will oversee a commercial landscape portfolio and multiple service teams. The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for training and developing these individuals and providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s)
• Manage all irrigation services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work
• Inspect properties before scheduled service to properly prepare a specific action plan for service
• Monitor all aspects of the irrigation system and identify any problems after installation and services
• Perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands
• Work with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew members, and prepare daily crew schedules
• Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all employee changes and new hires
• Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop a growth plan for employees
• Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards
• Focus on safety and monitor safety records
• Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules
• Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries
• Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines
• Assist the Branch Manager in the performance of irrigation sales tasks as required

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 years customer service, management, and leadership experience in an organization, the landscaping industry, or local marketplace, including 1-2 years supervisory experience
• Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses needed to perform work in the local market

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Operation of a computer and other office equipment/system, such as a laptop, cell phone
• Position is a combination of mobile and sedentary work; must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
