Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking an Irrigation Manager to lead multiple service teams and manage a commercial landscape portfolio. You will schedule, direct personnel and resources, and ensure quality, cost-effective irrigation services for clients.

Responsibilities include coordinating materials, equipment, and subcontractors; supporting account managers in estimating and client meetings; and training crews to uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years customer service, management, and leadership experience in landscaping or related field; 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses needed to perform work in the local market.

Responsibilities

• Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s).
• Manage all irrigation services, including coordination of materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Inspect properties before scheduled service to prepare a specific action plan.
• Monitor irrigation system aspects and identify problems after installation and service.
• Perform hands-on work with crews to meet scheduling demands.
• Work with Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire crew members, and prepare daily schedules.
• Ensure proper paperwork for all employee changes and new hires.
• Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, and develop a growth plan for employees.
• Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment and safety.
• Focus on safety and monitor safety records.
• Maintain administrative systems like time sheets, job databases, and service schedules.
• Order materials and monitor costs and deliveries.
• Request purchase orders and use per company guidelines.
• Assist Branch Manager in irrigation sales tasks as required.

Education

• Manage all irrigation services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work
• Inspect properties before scheduled service to properly prepare a specific action plan for service
• Monitor all aspects of the irrigation system and identify any problems after installation and services
• Perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands
• Work with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew members, and prepare daily crew schedules
• Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all employee changes and new hires
• Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop a growth plan for employees
• Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards
• Focus on safety and monitor safety records
• Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules
• Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries
• Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines
• Assist the Branch Manager in the performance of irrigation sales tasks as required

Education And Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 years customer service, management, and leadership experience in an organization, the landscaping industry, or local marketplace, including 1-2 years supervisory experience
• Obtain and maintain certifications and licenses needed to perform work in the local market

Physical Demands/Requirements

• Operation of a computer and other office equipment/system, such as a laptop, cell phone
• Position is a combination of mobile and sedentary work; must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
