Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Oakland seeks an Analyst in Market and Procurement Policy to support the IRP proceeding at the CPUC, developing a 5+ year strategy for California’s decarbonization and ensuring efficient procurement frameworks.

You will work with Expert- and Principal-level analysts, analyze state and federal policy proposals, and help align policy with PG&E’s clean energy vision in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Policy, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in energy markets, policy development and advocacy preferred.
  • Ability to develop analytical tools for decision making with data modeling and scripting.
  • Strong writing, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and execute analyses on electric markets, policy proposals, and business strategies.
  • Support qualitative and quantitative analyses and coordinate internally to inform positions and strategies.
  • Engage in CPUC stakeholder processes including comments, presentations, and meetings.
  • Research and communicate emerging regulatory issues and policy issues.
  • Be a positive team contributor and guide teammates toward objectives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Policy, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields
