Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking a Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker in Orlando to install, align, and weld structural steel components on fast-paced construction projects. The role requires reading blueprints, following certified welding practices, and coordinating with crane operators on site.

Candidates should have welding experience with current certifications or the ability to pass weld tests, and prior structural steel erection experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking.
• Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs.
• Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements.
• Bolt and secure steel members into place.
• Signal crane operators to safely hoist materials.
• Assemble steel frameworks and structural components.
• Cut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Safely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.

Position Summary

The Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker is responsible for installing, aligning, and welding structural steel components including beams, columns, and girders. This role requires experience in steel erection, blueprint reading, and certified welding practices in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking
• Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs
• Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements

Requirements

• Welding experience with current certifications or ability to pass weld tests
• Experience in structural steel erection preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Knowledge of rigging and signaling
• Basic to intermediate math skills
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
• Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)
