Job summary

Trillium Construction is seeking Journeyman Ironworker Welders for work in the Hooks, TX area. The role involves structural steel erection, welding, and roof/wall installation on a long-running project. Work hours are typically 7am–6pm, Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.

The position requires valid 3G/4G welding certifications, 3+ years’ experience in PEMB or industrial construction, and OSHA 10 or the ability to obtain. Per diem is offered at $100/day worked.

Qualifications

• Valid 3G and 4G welding certifications (AWS or equivalent).
• 3+ years of experience in PEMB, structural steel, or industrial construction.
• OSHA 10 Certification or ability to obtain.
• Boom Lift Certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and erection drawings.
• Strong understanding of bolt-up, alignment, and steel tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Erect primary building frames including columns and rafters.
• Install secondary members such as purlins, girts, and bracing systems.
• Align, plumb, and secure structural components.
• Perform bolt-up and final torquing per specifications.
• Welding & fabrication to code requirements.
• Roof & wall installation including panels and insulation.
• Rig and operate cranes and lifting equipment safely.
• Follow OSHA and site safety requirements.

Trillium Construction is now hiring Journeyman Ironworker Welders for work in the Hooks, TX Area!

Work is Monday - Friday, with some Saturdays. 7am-6pm, 50-58/hours per week. Pay is $27.90/hour with per diem of $100/day worked. Project is scheduled for 4+ months.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Steel Erection
  • Erect primary building frames including columns and rafters
  • Install secondary members such as purlins, girts, and bracing systems
  • Align, plumb, and secure structural components
  • Perform bolt-up and final torquing per specifications
• Welding & Fabrication
  • Perform field welding using SMAW, FCAW, or GMAW processes
  • Execute welds in 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) positions to code requirements
  • Read and interpret welding symbols and structural drawings
  • Ensure weld quality meets AWS D1.1 or project-specific standards
• Roof & Wall Installation
  • Install metal roof systems (standing seam or screw-down)
  • Install wall panels, insulation systems, and trim
  • Seal building envelope to ensure weather-tight conditions
• Doors, Openings & Accessories
  • Install overhead doors, walk doors, windows, and louvers
  • Frame openings per engineered drawings
• Rigging & Equipment Operation
  • Signal cranes and assist with hoisting operations
  • Safely rig structural components for lifting and placement
  • Use aerial lifts, telehandlers, and other equipment as needed
• Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
  • Maintain 100% tie-off and fall protection compliance
  • Participate in daily JHAs and safety meetings
