Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Ironworker Helper for a project in Wilson, NC. The helper will assist skilled craft workers with installing, maintaining and operating instruments and measuring devices essential to functional systems.

Responsibilities include loading and delivering materials, working from scaffolds and ladders, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and following SIC safety and quality procedures. Some travel may be required; benefits/ PTO after 3 months.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining and operating instruments and measuring devices for functional systems.
• Load, transport, unload and furnish materials, tools, equipment and supplies to experienced craft workers.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Perform work from scaffolding, ladders or other structures.
• Work overhead, at heights, beneath structures, and from various positions as required by working conditions.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities of site, tools and equipment.
• Verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
• Significant travel may be required.
