Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Ironworker Helper for a project in Wilson, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

Assist in installing, maintaining and operating instruments and measuring devices, and support skilled workers with materials, tools and supplies on a busy site.

Role involves varied positions, heights, ladders and scaffolding, with emphasis on safety, reliable attendance and effective communication with the crew.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow safety and general job training.
• Observe SIC safety and quality processes at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining and operating instruments and measuring devices.
• Load, transport, unload and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Perform work from scaffolding, ladders or other structures.
• Perform work overhead, at heights, beneath structures, and from various other positions as required by working conditions.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities of site, tools and equipment.
• Ability to verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors, and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required
