Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction Company in Morgan City, LA is hiring an Ironworker Helper to support journeyman ironworkers on our local project site. The role performs assisting tasks, handles equipment, and maintains safety on site.

You will use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, learn rigging basics, and contribute to building activities while upholding company safety standards. Candidates should have at least 6 months of helper-level construction experience and pass pre-hire

Qualifications

• At least 6-months experience as a Helper level construction worker
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

• Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel.
• Lift, carry and hold building materials and supplies .

Summary:

A helper assists journeyman level craft by performing support tasks on construction projects such as erecting, wrecking, repairing, maintaining equipment and performing janitorial functions.

• Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner.
• Construction Math - Demonstrates a basic level of competency in construction math as required in trade practice.
• Rigging Equipment – Safely and competently identify and use basic rigging procedures and equipment including chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks and tuggers.
• Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent withage.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outsideconditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, andscaffolds.
• Work at heights with fall protection, work from manlifts, baskets, JLG’s etc.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
