Job summary

ARCS WELDING AND ERECTION LLC is seeking an experienced Ironworker Foreman to lead and supervise ironworker crews on commercial, industrial, and structural steel projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will safely direct crews, coordinate with project management and other trades, and maintain production schedules while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of ironworking experience with foreman or crew-lead preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging, welding, bolting, and/or miscellaneous metals.
• Ability to read blueprints, erection drawings, and specifications.
• OSHA construction safety requirements and fall-protection practices.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a field crew.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Physically demanding construction work with lifting and carrying.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and coordinate daily activities of ironworker crews.
• Read and interpret structural steel drawings, erection plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Lead the installation, erection, alignment, bolting, welding, and rigging of structural steel and related components.
• Plan daily work activities and assign personnel, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
• Coordinate work with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, subcontractors, crane operators, and other trades.
• Conduct daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and jobsite safety meetings.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA requirements, company policies, project specifications, and applicable safety procedures.
• Inspect completed work for quality, proper alignment, connections, and compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor crew productivity, manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Identify potential jobsite hazards and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
• Safely direct crane picks, rigging operations, and material handling activities.
• Train, mentor, and provide direction to ironworkers and apprentices.
• Communicate project progress, manpower needs, material requirements, and field issues to management.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, production information, and other required documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting field conditions, sequencing issues, and changes in scope.
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers, contractors, inspectors, and coworkers.
• Travel to and work at various project locations for extended periods.

The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with extensive ironworking experience who can safely direct crews, coordinate with project management and other trades, maintain production schedules, and ensure work is completed to quality and safety standards.

This is a full time position, requiring regular work at project locations away from the employee's home area.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, reinforcing steel, rigging, welding, bolting, and/or miscellaneous metals.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, erection drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of OSHA construction safety requirements and fall-protection practices.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a field crew.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, climb, and perform physically demanding construction work.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• NCCER or other recognized ironworker/structural steel credentials.
• Qualified welder certifications.
• Rigging and signaling qualifications.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Crane/Signalperson or qualified rigger certification.
• Experience supervising crews of 5-20+ employees.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, power, manufacturing, or structural steel projects.

Physical Requirements
