Position: Ironworker

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine material requirements.
• Fabricate metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders.
• Unload, position, and hoist prefabricated steel units using cranes and signaling equipment.
• Verify alignment of steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, or levels.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces with appropriate tools.
• Position steel members using turnbuckles, crowbars, or jacks.
• Align and bolt steel members for permanent fastening.
• Assemble rigging and hoisting equipment for moving heavy materials.
