Job summary

EZARC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking motivated individuals to join its Apprenticeship Program to become certified Journeyman Ironworkers (JIW). The program trains you to read construction drawings and participate in the erection of structural steel on real projects.

You will work with experienced Journeyman, learn rigging, welding basics, bolt-up, and safety practices, with certification tests for AWS D1.1/D1.3 and OSHA 10 after probation.

Qualifications

• Prior education/experience in structural welding or related fields.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication and welding tools.
• Familiarity with shop drawings, engineering blueprints and schematics.
• OSHA/Safety certifications are a plus.
• Reliable transportation to/from work and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow EZARC apprenticeship program to become Journeyman Ironworker.
• Learn to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Assist with layout & erection of structural steel elements.
• Work with Journeyman to verify materials, measurements, and specs.
• Assist with rigging and hoisting of steel members; load/unload materials.
• Learn cutting, welding, fitting, bolting, decking, and high-tension work.
• Operate fall protection equipment and basic power tools safely.
• Maintain quality and safety standards; participate in problem solving.
