Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Iron Worker / PEMB Erector role based in Madison, WI. The Iron Worker / PEMB Erector installs and aligns structural steel components, columns, beams, and metal building systems according to drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include bolting and welding connections, rigging and signaling for crane lifts, installing wall and roof panels, and ensuring proper bracing and alignment. The role also involves reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, working at heights, and following all safety procedures, including fall protection and equipment inspections. The individual collaborates with site supervisors and crew members to meet project schedules, maintain a clean and organized work area, and complete quality checks on completed work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, erection plans, and basic layout documents.
• Experience with structural steel erection, PEMB installation, or related ironworking tasks on commercial or industrial projects.
• Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly used for steel and metal building erection.
• Comfort working at heights, on ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts, with consistent use of fall protection.
• Strong safety awareness, including adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials, and to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow directions and coordinate with crew members and supervisors.
• Reliable transportation to Madison-area job sites and willingness to work varying schedules as project needs require.
• Prior experience in ironwork, steel erection, or PEMB assembly preferred; relevant apprenticeship or trade training is a plus.
