Job summary

Caterpillar is hiring an Iron Technician I for the Midland, TX facility on the 2nd shift. The role focuses on assembling, testing, and inspecting iron components, with a 6:00 PM–2:00 AM schedule (10 days on, 4 off) and a shift premium. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour, with overtime as needed.

The position requires basic mechanical skills and a willingness to learn non destructive testing and flow control procedures. Benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Three to six months related experience and/or training is desired but not required.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as hammers and screwdrivers.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming iron starts to finish, accept delivery, recertify equipment and prepare for delivery.
• Assist Iron Technicians during disassembly phase.
• Clean, strip and inspect flow control components and prepare for inspections.
• Assemble flow control products and perform required SOP procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper shop area organization.
• Operate computer systems for SPM AMP and related records.
