Job summary

The University of New England in Maine seeks an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) Compliance Coordinator to support research protections and biosafety oversight. You will assist with intake, pre-review, and correspondence with researchers, and help maintain records.

Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, tracking submissions, guiding researchers on requirements, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated administrative, regulatory, research, or compliance experience.
• Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain complete and accurate records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, BOX , and Adobe Acrobat or comparable applications.

Responsibilities

• Process intake and pre-review of submissions.
• Maintain official IRB/IBC records.
• Provide guidance on submission requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings and minutes.
• Log and track applications, amendments, and reports.
• Communicate review requirements to researchers.
• Support committee operations and regulatory documents.
