Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Coordinator to provide regulatory guidance and administrative support for human subjects research across Mercyhealth locations on a hybrid schedule. You will educate researchers, review applications for compliance, and prepare IRB minutes and agendas with meticulous attention to regulatory detail.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in biomedical or related fields, familiarity with federal/state regulations, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in biomedical, health science, social sciences or related field.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing human subjects research.
• Moderate experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Educate, consult and guide researchers and staff in designing human subject research per applicable regulations and Mercyhealth SOPs.
• Review new research applications for completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure informed consent elements are present in documents and communications to investigators.
• Provide written correspondence documenting IRB determinations and required revisions.
• Evaluate reports of unanticipated problems, noncompliance, amendments and continuing reviews.
