Job summary

The Nathan Kline Institute (NKI) position supports the IRB and HRPP program, ensuring adherence to federal guidelines and FDA requirements. Responsibilities include educating researchers, processing protocol submissions, maintaining IRB files, and coordinating IRB meetings.

Qualifications

• BA or BS or equivalent background and experience.
• At least 1 year IRB staff experience.
• Working knowledge of ethical principles and regulatory information regarding protection of human research participants (DHHS and FDA).
• Understanding of operational requirements related to IRB review process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-review of human subjects submissions and prepare materials for primary reviewers.
• Facilitate full IRB review per HRPP policies, state law, and federal regulations.
• Attend and participate in IRB Committee meetings.
• Ensure research requests comply with applicable policy, laws and regulations.
• Maintain clear and accurate IRB files (electronic and hard copies).
• Provide support to investigators from proposal review through study completion.
