Job summary

Holy Cross Health Florida in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an IR Technologist responsible for real-time fluoroscopy, image acquisition, and coordination with the care team. The role involves transporting patients, assisting with procedures, and maintaining safety and communication with physicians during interventions.

The position requires AMA-approved radiology training, BLS certification, Florida licensure, and ARRT credentialing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Radiology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Able to respond on-site within 30 minutes when participating in the on-call rotation.
• Florida Licensed Radiologic Technologist, Radiography credentialing through ARRT.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment and table positioning for safe patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to acquire images and send images to PACS.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Transports patients to and from the procedural area, admitting and recovery areas, and other hospital areas as needed.
• Assists with patient transfer to and from the procedure table and stretcher.
• Maintains ongoing communication with the physician operator throughout procedures for safety, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Willingness to learn new procedures and coordinate in-service/education for other associates as needed.
• Administers contrast media under physician direction, recognizing and responding to signs of contrast reaction.
• Reviews patient history, lab values, prior imaging, and correlates protocol with patient status; communicates findings to physician and team.
