Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners in Syracuse is seeking an IR Sedation Nurse responsible for the assessment and ongoing care of patients receiving moderate sedation for radiology procedures.

You will prepare the patient and procedure room, administer IV sedation, monitor vital signs, manage narcotics counts, document usage, and ensure safe transfer to holding areas, with post-op follow-up as needed. The role requires collaboration with medical staff, adherence to HIPAA, and mentoring new nurses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current state RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and procedure room for radiology procedures.
• Administer medications and IV sedation; monitor vitals.
• Conduct narcotics counts and document usage.
• Monitor patient intra- and post-op for airway and vital stability.
• Maintain inventory in procedure room and report shortages.
• Provide patient education and post-op follow-up calls.
• Train new nurses and medical assistants as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
