Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Interventional Radiology (IR) unit. You will support patients before, during, and after minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, and assist physicians with interventions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and nurses to ensure patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Current DC RN license (or eligible to obtain).
• BLS and ACLS (AHA-certified).
• Minimum 1 year critical care, emergency, or IR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor patients for IR procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation and medications as needed.
• Assist physicians during image-guided interventions.
• Monitor patient status and document care throughout procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure education and support.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other team members.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts.
