Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior mechanical engineering leader to guide cross-functional teams in the Ultra Stack ramp up, overseeing design, development, integration, and testing for high-rate production. You will coordinate schedules, budgets, staffing, and milestones with program leadership, while ensuring compliance with discipline guidelines and risk-mitigation strategies.

You will also drive supplier evaluations, qualify multiple sources, and manage onsite and offsite assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical design, analysis, modeling, and hardware integration.
• Experience leading engineering teams or IPT-style execution.
• Experience with supplier development or manufacturing readiness.
• Ability to obtain Raytheon PM Level 6 Certification within 12 months.
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of engineering execution across mechanical design, development, integration, and testing for Ultra Stack ramp up.
• Coordinate with Program Manager and Chief Engineer to define schedules, budgets, staffing and milestones.
• Drive mechanical tasks per RTX discipline: design, modeling, structural/thermal analysis, materials evaluation, integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mechanical and cross-functional teams.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks; develop structured risk-reduction plans.
• Serve as primary engineering interface with stakeholders, communicating status, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with Operations & Supply Chain to identify, vet and qualify suppliers for surge production.
• Travel ~25% early in role to perform supplier engagements.
