Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in Tucson, AZ seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering IPTL to lead design, development, integration, and testing for Ultra Stack components. You will drive supplier engagement and ramp-up activities onsite, partnering with OSCM and MPM to mature a robust supplier base.

The role requires a STEM degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain the PM Level 6 certification. A Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required, with ~25% travel initially.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical design, analysis, modeling, and hardware integration.
• Experience leading engineering teams or IPT-style execution.
• Experience collaborating with Operations/Supply Chain on supplier development or manufacturing readiness.
• Ability to obtain Raytheon PM Level 6 Certification within 12 months.
• Active security clearance: U.S. government-issued Secret clearance required before start date; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering execution across design, development, integration, and testing to support Ultra Stack production ramp-up.
• Coordinate with Program Manager and Chief Engineer to define schedules, budgets, staffing, and milestones.
• Drive tasks per RTX guidelines: design, modeling, analysis, materials, and integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mechanical and cross-functional teams.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks; develop structured risk-reduction plans.
• Serve as primary engineering interface with internal and external stakeholders and communicate status.
