Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Principal Mission Systems Engineer to own the MMA mission systems architecture and operational employment concepts for USAF mission sets. You will translate CONOPS and TTPs into concrete requirements, drive interfaces across avionics, GCS, and C2 networks, and lead trade studies balancing performance with cost and weight.

The role requires 15+ years of mission systems experience, strong USAF operational background, and the ability to bridge requirements with engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 15+ years of mission systems engineering experience with USAF operations preferred.
• Ability to translate CONOPS/TTPs into engineering requirements and design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the mission systems architecture for the MMA platform, including payload employment, mission planning, and execution logic.
• Translate USAF CONOPS, TTPs, and employment concepts into traceable mission systems requirements.
• Define interfaces with onboard avionics, Ground Control Station (GCS), payload subsystems, and C2 networks.
• Lead mission-level trade studies balancing operational effectiveness against cost, weight, and producibility constraints.
• Serve as the senior technical authority for mission systems at PDR/CDR and government meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mission systems maturity with schedule and cost targets.
