Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Technical and Reporting Accountant to join the Finance team and drive IFRS reporting ahead of an IPO. You will interpret new standards, draft accounting papers, and provide technically sound guidance on complex transactions in a global, largely remote role.

Based in the London area or remote in EMEA time zones, with international travel 2–4 times a year, you will prepare statutory accounts across multiple subsidiaries, monitor regulatory changes, and support external and

Qualifications

• Academic excellence and strong track record.
• Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/ACMA/CPA).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
• Experience with financial reporting and statutory accounts.

Responsibilities

• Interpret new and existing accounting standards.
• Provide technical accounting advice for complex transactions.
• Draft accounting papers and policy documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact.
• Assist with year-end external audit and internal audit.
• Assist in month-end reporting for timely information.
• Ensure IFRS and local GAAP compliance.
• Prepare statutory accounts and annual reports across subsidiaries.
