Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to scale finance from an early-stage setup to a world-class function ready for IPO. You will lead the Controller and FinOps teams, establish robust governance, and partner with founders to drive disciplined financial management across a fast-moving engineering culture.

You will manage multi-billion capital deployments, lead Series C fundraising, and coordinate with investors including major AI-focused VCs, ensuring governance and reporting

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive finance experience in high-growth, capital-intensive businesses.
• Experience in hardware/semiconductor/manufacturing with supply chain economics.
• Proven track record raising large institutional rounds and managing multi-billion capital structures.
• IPO experience as CFO or senior finance leader through public markets.
• Strong financial modelling and capital markets credentials.
• Excellent quantitative reasoning and ability to engage with engineers using data.
• Autonomous, self-directed, collaborative with founders.
• Bay Area-based or able to commit to ~3 days/week in Bay Area office.
• Willingness to move fast with pragmatic capital efficiency when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the finance organisation from early-stage to world-class for IPO readiness.
• Oversee Controller and FinOps teams, establish governance and internal controls.
• Establish accounting governance, financial reporting, and audit-readiness.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to embed financial discipline while aligning with engineering speed.
• Translate complex financial data into insights for executives and the board.
• Manage deployment of multi-billion dollar capital across supply chain investments and manufacturing.
• Lead Series C fundraising and manage investor relationships.
• Oversee debt financing strategy including existing ~$2B facility.
• Develop long-term capital structure strategy aligned with IPO path.
• Support investor reporting and board discussions.
