Live-Parallel in Gainesville is hiring an IPM Technician to support our cannabis cultivation operations. You will monitor plants for pests, diseases, and nutritional issues, and work closely with growers to maintain healthy crops.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a regulated environment. The role offers an overnight 5:30 PM–4:00 AM shift, a four-day work week, and opportunities for growth within a leading national cannabis company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cannabis plants for signs of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and overall plant health concerns.
• Conduct routine scouting and inspections throughout cultivation areas.
• Accurately document and communicate crop health observations, trends, and concerns to management and grow teams.
• Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and treatment programs as directed by cultivation leadership.
• Monitor and maintain pest traps, collect data, and provide pest population reports.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of biological, cultural, and approved control measures.
• Identify and report irrigation irregularities, environmental concerns, and equipment issues affecting plant health.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of beneficial insect programs.
• Verify and validate scouting reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain organized records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance crop health and operational efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As an IPM Technician, you'll be the eyes and ears of our cultivation operation, working directly with plants and partnering closely with growers and cultivation leadership to support healthy, thriving crops. Successful candidates are team-oriented, detail-focused, and ready to contribute to a high-performing cultivation environment. This role will be supporting our Surterra Wellness operations in Florida.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a highly regulated cultivation environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Six (6) months or more of agricultural, greenhouse, horticulture, nursery, or cultivation experience
• Previous experience working in a regulated production environment
• Passion for plant science and commercial cultivation
• Knowledge of common horticultural pests, diseases, and IPM practices

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach throughout the workday
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and cooler temperatures
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Ability to climb ladders and work safely around cultivation equipment
• Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to plant materials, pollen, dust, odors, fertilizers, and varying indoor climate conditions
