Job description

The Village at Country Creek is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Spray Technician/Assistant. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon. The desired candidate would be someone who enjoys working outdoors, is a leader, a team player, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and appreciates the value of hard work.

General Purpose:

Performs chemical/fertilizer applications and assists the superintendent on a 60 acres Executive Golf Course.

Pay range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
  • Reads, understands and keeps current up-to-date material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers.
  • Keeps records of any fertilizer or chemical applications.
  • Ensures proper calibration of all spraying/fertilizing equipment.
  • Assists the superintendent and collaborates to supervise the crew.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Certificate from college or technical school; or 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current Certified Florida O&T License or obtained within 90 days of employment.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly stands and walks; occasionally sits, climbs or balances, tastes or smells.
  • Regularly uses hands; reaches with hands or arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; talks or hears.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

  • Ability to read and speak English and some Spanish is required to communicate well with the entire crew.
