Job summary

Ascent Pain Solutions seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide clinical care for new and established patients in a busy interventional pain management practice in Austin, TX.

The APP will perform histories, exams, and manage treatment plans, order interventional procedures, and coordinate with the clinical team. Strong communication and organization are essential in a fast-paced setting involving procedures and post-care follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas NP or PA license in good standing.
  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Current board certification as applicable.
  • DEA registration or eligibility, if required.
  • Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and critical thinking.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty practice.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive clinical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage new and established patients with acute/chronic pain, spine-related conditions, and musculoskeletal complaints.
  • Perform histories, physical exams, chart reviews, imaging reviews, and treatment-response assessments.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising/collaborating physicians.
  • Order, coordinate, and follow up on interventional pain procedures and minimally invasive spine procedures.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure education, follow-up, outcome tracking, and next-step care planning.
  • Coordinate with physicians, medical assistants, procedure coordinators, authorization teams, imaging centers, PT providers, referring offices, and surgery centers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, compliant documentation in the EMR.
  • Communicate with referring providers as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality assurance, outcome tracking, chart review, and process improvement.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Our providers specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions using conservative care, image-guided interventional procedures, and minimally invasive spine treatment options.

Position Summary

Ascent Pain Solutions is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide clinical care for new and established patients in a busy interventional pain management practice. This role includes direct patient care, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, procedure ordering, follow-up management, patient education, and clinical documentation. The APP will work closely with interventional pain physicians and the clinical team to order and follow up on interventional pain management procedures and minimally invasive spine procedures, while helping guide patients through the full continuum of care.

  • 3+ years in interventional pain, PM&R, orthopedics, neurosurgery, spine surgery, surgical practice, or related outpatient specialty.
  • Experience with injections, ablations, spinal cord stimulation, minimally invasive spine procedures, or related treatments.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary care teams.
  • eClinicalWorks experience.
  • Experience tracking outcomes or patient-reported improvement.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
