Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of material handling, stockroom, warehouse, or inventory control experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test environments or production settings.
  • Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, issuing, and material movement processes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records with attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials in a warehouse.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, transfer, kit, and deliver material to support integration, test, and limited production activity.
  • Execute material transactions accurately and on time to maintain inventory accuracy and system integrity.
  • Pull and stage material to support build schedules, test events, and daily priorities.
  • Maintain clean, organized stockroom and warehouse areas.
  • Support inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate with internal teams on material movement and readiness.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, discrepancy research, and corrective actions.
  • Support government property control procedures and follow site rules for handling GFE and other accountable assets.
  • Perform receipt, tagging, identification, labeling, and system entry of GFE as directed.
  • Help maintain proper segregation and controlled access of government assets in storage and work areas.
  • Maintain serialized traceability within Costpoint, EQuIP, or designated tracking systems.
  • Prepare and process DD1149 transfer documentation and support related material movement records.
  • Support DD250 related receiving or shipping documentation, as applicable.
  • Assist with PIEE transactions, supporting records, and reporting requirements when required.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and support annual physical inventories for GFE and accountable material.
  • Identify and report property discrepancies, transaction issues, and documentation gaps to the Material Manager.
  • Support audit preparation and provide accurate records for DCMA, customer, or internal reviews.

Overview

The Material Handler / Material Specialist supports day to day material operations at the IPIF in Crane, Indiana. This role works for the Material Manager and executes material handling, stockroom, warehouse, and inventory tasks that keep material available, traceable, and compliant within an Assembly, Integration, and Test environment with some production support needs. The position also supports Government Furnished Equipment and other accountable property activities by ensuring material is properly received, tagged, recorded, moved, stored, issued, and documented in accordance with site procedures and government property requirements.

Job Skills

Required

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in material handling, stockroom, warehouse, inventory control, or related supply chain operations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test, production, or other operational environments.
  • Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, issuing, and material movement processes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, follow procedures, and work with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials in a warehouse or operational environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Preferred
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Experience with EQuIP or similar property accountability systems.
  • Experience supporting DD1149, DD250, and PIEE related activities.
  • Experience supporting Government Furnished Equipment, Contractor Acquired Property, or customer owned material.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, or another regulated environment.
  • Forklift or other material handling equipment experience, if required by site operations.
