Job summary

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is seeking a Full Time Project Director, Construction to lead healthcare construction projects on site at the UHealth Medical Campus. This role reports to the AVP of IPD and directs PMs/PCs within the IPD framework, driving cost, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, integrate medical equipment and IT into design, and mentor junior staff while advancing safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a portfolio of IPD projects, providing strategic direction and supervision of PMs and PCs.
• Implements program management processes and controls aligning with organizational goals.
• Leads project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinates across stakeholders to refine project scope and drive integrated solutions.
• Manages pre-development activities including site selection, feasibility studies, design, and budgeting.
• Oversees bid and permit management processes ensuring timely submissions.
• Ensures budget and schedule management across all projects with risk mitigation.
• Reviews and approves payment applications per progress and contracts.
