Job summary

NAI is seeking an IPC & Quality Trainer to develop, deliver, and maintain training programs supporting IPC standards and quality procedures across the organization. The role ensures proper certification, records management, and ongoing improvement to reduce defects and ensure regulatory compliance.

The trainer conducts hands-on coaching on the production floor, collaborates with engineering and HR, and supports internal/external audits.

Qualifications

• IPC certification training and recertification per IPC standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001)
• New hire quality orientation and manufacturing workmanship training
• Certify operators based on IPC and company quality requirements
• Maintain training records, certification status, and recertification schedules
• Develop training materials, presentations, work instructions, and visual aids
• Hands-on coaching on the production floor to reinforce quality standards
• Identify training needs via quality metrics, internal audits, and customer feedback
• Support audits, CAPA, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, and HR for required training
• Verify compliance with customer specs, workmanship standards, and procedures
• Assist in audits and with training documentation for certifications
• Develop standardized work instructions and visual quality standards
• Monitor training effectiveness and drive improvements from quality data
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
• Perform other quality and training duties as assigned

Description

This position is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining technical training programs that support quality, workmanship, and IPC standards throughout the organization. The IPC & Quality Trainer ensures employees are properly trained and certified in applicable IPC standards, quality procedures, and manufacturing best practices to improve product quality, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Expectations of the IPC and Quality Trainer:

• Develops, coordinates, and delivers IPC certification and recertification training in accordance with applicable IPC standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001)
• Conducts new hire quality orientation and manufacturing workmanship training
• Evaluates employee workmanship and certifies operators based on IPC and company quality requirements
• Maintains training records, certification status, and recertification schedules for all employees
• Develops training materials, presentations, work instructions, visual aids, and competency assessments
• Performs hands-on coaching on the production floor to reinforce quality standards and manufacturing best practices
• Identifies training needs through quality metrics, internal audits, customer feedback, and production trends
• Assists the Quality Manager with internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Partners with Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, and Human Resources to ensure employees receive required technical and quality training
• Verifies compliance with customer specifications, workmanship standards, and company procedures
• Supports customer, regulatory, and certification audits by providing training documentation and demonstrating employee competency programs
• Assists in developing standardized work instructions and visual quality standards
• Monitors training effectiveness and recommends improvements based on quality performance indicators
• Promotes a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
• Performs other quality and training related duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
• Ability to read, write, and converse in both English and Spanish

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics, wire harnesses, cable assembly, or manufacturing quality
• Previous experience conducting technical or manufacturing training preferred
• Strong understanding of quality systems, workmanship standards, and manufacturing processes
• Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date
