Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Intellectual Property Manager to support invention disclosures, patent strategies, and licensing opportunities within Technology Commercialization.

The role builds collaborations across academia, industry, and investors to advance technologies from lab to market, while delivering data-driven portfolio stewardship and IP governance. A Master’s degree is required, with a PhD preferred, and several years in IP.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a scientific/business/healthcare field.
• PhD in a biological science field is preferred.
• Four years in IP assessment/protection or technology transfer; with PhD, three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate invention disclosures for patentability and alignment with IP objectives.
• Develop and present patent filing strategies with inventors and stakeholders.
• Lead lifecycle management and prosecution of portfolios.
• Coordinate with transaction teams to support licensing opportunities.
• Deliver workshops on IP practices and promote commercialization pathways.
• Analyze filing trends and prepare portfolio reports.
