Job summary

CoxHealth South is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering therapeutic exercises and treatment plans. You’ll work with patients across pediatric to adult populations in an acute therapy setting at Cox South Hospital.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient progress, and a collaborative learning environment with mentorship for new graduates. Prior PTA licensure in Missouri is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• No prior experience required.
• Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required.
• Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist with therapeutic exercises, training or treatment plans to return the patient to a normal pattern of movement and functioning.
• Communicate patient care information to PT staff to evaluate treatment plans and progress.

Job Summary

Under the guidance and direction of a Physical Therapist a Physical Therapy Assistant assists the Therapist with therapeutic exercises, training or treatment plans to return the patient to a normal pattern of movement and functioning as possible. Works with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages who are referred for medical and educational services. The primary functions are to perform patient related activities, including delegated procedures that are commensurate with educational skill and training. Responsible for communication of care to physical therapy staff or others to evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
