Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join Acute Therapy South at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will assist with therapeutic exercises, treatment plans, and patient mobility goals across pediatric to geriatric ages.

This role offers mentorship for new graduates, a collaborative team culture, and opportunities to grow clinical skills in acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Skills: Good clinical expertise, communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Shows interest in professional growth through continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist with therapeutic exercises and treatment plans.
• Work with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages.
• Communicate patient care and coordinate treatment with staff.
• Return patient to normal movement patterns as possible.

Job Summary

Under the guidance and direction of a Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant assists the Therapist with therapeutic exercises, training or treatment plans to return the patient to a normal pattern of movement and functioning as possible. Works with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages who are referred for medical and educational services. The primary functions are to perform patient related activities, including delegated procedures that are commensurate with educational skill and training. Responsible for communication of care to physical therapy staff or others to evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
