This role offers autonomy over your clients and practice with the backing of a robust infrastructure, administrative support, and dedicated marketing and business development resources.

You can transition an existing IP practice or pursue a potential small firm merger while leveraging a broader network of attorneys and cross-referrals to expand

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant IP law experience across trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, licensing, or IP litigation.
• Established IP practice with a transferable book of business, ideally $350K+ annually.
• Current law firm partner, solo practitioner, boutique firm owner, or senior attorney with an established client base.
• Demonstrated ability to originate business and maintain long-standing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Transition and continue managing your existing IP practice within a larger, supportive platform.
• Maintain and expand relationships with established clients while developing new business opportunities.
• Advise businesses, entrepreneurs, technology companies, brand owners, and investors on IP protection, enforcement, and commercialization.
• Oversee trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, licensing, or IP litigation matters within your area of expertise.
• Develop and implement IP strategies that support clients' business objectives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements, technology agreements, IP assignments, confidentiality agreements, and related commercial contracts.
• Manage IP portfolios, including trademark and copyright registration, enforcement, and risk management.
• Counsel clients on protecting IP assets during mergers, acquisitions, financings, and other business transactions.
• Collaborate with attorneys across complementary practice areas to provide comprehensive legal services and create additional opportunities for clients.
• Leverage the firm's marketing, operational, and business development resources to grow your practice.
• Help shape the continued expansion of the firm's Intellectual Property practice.
