Job summary

State Farm seeks a paralegal within the Intellectual Property Section to support patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios. You will draft filings, review content for IP issues, monitor deadlines, and assist with UDRP matters and outside counsel coordination.

You will use FoundationIP/Anaqua and USPTO portals, interact with attorneys and business teams, and may travel as needed. A paralegal certificate with IP experience is required.

Qualifications

• Paralegal degree/certificate and IP experience.
• Hands-on experience preparing/filing patent/trademark documents.
• Experience with IP docketing deadlines and US/foreign filings.

Responsibilities

• Assist counsel with drafting and preparation of patent, trademark, and copyright filings and related documents.
• Review content to identify potential IP issues and guide attorney review.
• Monitor trademark watch and clearance/infringement alerts and triage risks.
• Draft cease and desist letters under attorney direction.
• Support UDRP matters and domain registrant research.
• Conduct research and prepare summaries for attorney review.
• Respond to inquiries from internal departments and external associates.
• Use IP docketing systems and USPTO portals to manage matters and deadlines.
• May travel for job-related activities.
• Maintain paralegal competency through continuing education.
• Work hours may include weekends/holidays.
