Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an IP Paralegal Manager to lead our IP paralegal function, overseeing recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and workflow coordination while partnering with attorneys, practice leadership, and Human Resources. The role focuses on developing talent and building high-performing teams across offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years as an IP paralegal.
• 3+ years managing a large, multi-office team.
• Strong financial acumen with productivity metrics in billable contexts.
• Excellent communication and employee-relations skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Paralegal association membership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the paralegal support function, including recruiting, hiring, utilization and training, and professional development.
• Coordinate onboarding for all new paralegals, ensuring access to resources and training.
• Manage performance issues and counseling in conjunction with HR.
• Lead the performance evaluation process with lawyers and conduct annual reviews.
• Engage with practice groups to understand needs and strengths of paralegals.
• Manage workflow, capacity, assignments, and utilization to support lawyers and clients.
• Approve PTO requests and timecards in Time and Attendance System.
• May assist Practice Group Director and IP Practice Manager.
