Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. is seeking an IP Operations System Specialist for the Hub team. This remote-first role supports the Practice Systems Department and focuses on maintaining IP systems and data integrity.

You will develop reports, assist with matter openings and staffing updates, and help drive automation across IP operations. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in patent/trademark support are preferred, with MS SQL and MS Office proficiency valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of patent or trademark prosecution support experience.
• MS SQL skills preferred; strong MS Word/Excel and docketing tools.
• Proficiency with document management systems and related software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IP systems with audits, data cleanup and validation.
• Assist with daily matter openings and staffing updates for practice groups.
• Develop and run recurring and ad hoc reports and audits for leadership.
• Assist initiatives to implement automation for IP Operations.

Hub employees work primarily from home with no expectation of a regular in-office presence. This is a remote-first position, with a focus on candidates in MA, DE, NY, CA, DC, MN, TX, GA, and IL.

How Will You Make a Difference?

• Responsible for ensuring that IP systems are maintained through regular audits, data cleanup, and validation.
• Assist with daily matter opening and staffing updates required by the practice groups.
• Develop and run recurring and ad hoc reports and audits in response to requests made through processes established by department leadership.
• Assist with initiatives to implement automation to create efficiencies for the IP Operations Team and practice groups.

What Will You Bring to the Table?

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in patent or trademark prosecution support services.
• MS SQL skills preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; IP docketing/management systems; and document management systems.

• Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including education, experience, skills, professional background, overall qualifications, and location.
• In Boston, New York, San Diego, and Silicon Valley, the estimated starting pay is $37.36 - $46.70 per hour (based on a 35-hour workweek), which is equivalent to $68,000 - $85,000 annually.
• In Chicago, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C., the estimated starting pay is $34.87 - $43.59 per hour (based on a 37.5-hour workweek), which is equivalent to $68,000 - $85,000 annually.
