Blue Point Healthcare Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse (RN) to lead and coordinate the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program. The IP RN will monitor surveillance, guide corrective actions, and ensure regulatory compliance to safeguard residents, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate holds an active Maryland RN license with at least 2 years in long-term care or similar settings, plus experience in infection prevention.

Qualifications

• Requires active Maryland RN license.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, preferably in long-term care.
• Infection prevention and control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Conduct ongoing infection surveillance and track healthcare-associated infections.
• Analyze infection data and identify trends to reduce infection risks.
• Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations.
• Investigate outbreaks and implement corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes.
• Provide infection prevention education and training to staff.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
• Conduct audits and monitor hand hygiene, PPE utilization, and isolation precautions.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to infection control activities.
• Serve as a resource for residents, families, and staff regarding infection prevention practices.
• Assist with emergency preparedness related to infectious disease management.

Position Summary

Blue Point Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee and coordinate our Infection Prevention and Control Program. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for monitoring infection surveillance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, educating staff, and promoting a safe environment for residents, visitors, and employees.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in long-term care and a passion for quality improvement, resident safety, and regulatory compliance.
