Vanguard-IP, based in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced IP/Patent attorney with a biotechnology practice background to join our litigation-focused team. The candidate will handle complex Hatch-Waxman and biosimilar matters, conduct in-depth legal research, draft pleadings, and present arguments in district court or PTAB proceedings.
The ideal candidate is an independent thinker capable of mentoring junior associates, managing cases, and coordinating with clients.
Qualified applicants for this position must have prior work experience in a biotechnology practice, along with a degree in a life sciences technology area (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biomedical science, chemical engineering, molecular biology, pharmacy, or the like). The firm is seeking individuals who are independent thinkers and have the capacity to assume increasing responsibility in a highly successful litigation practice. Candidates must possess strong research, writing, and analytic skills; the ability to manage and mentor more junior associates; strong management and organizational skills; an ability to work independently and creatively; and an ability to work successfully as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have prior work experience handling and preferably managing Hatch-Waxman, biosimilar, or competitor pharmaceutical cases in district court or before the PTAB. Candidates must have strong academic credentials from an accredited law school. All candidates must be admitted to the state bar of their preferred office location.
