Job summary

Latham & Watkins seeks an IP Litigation & Trial Senior Paralegal to support attorneys across all phases of IP litigation, including ITC matters. The role leads operational management of IP cases and coordinates document reviews, trial binders, and witness preparation.

The position is based in one of our offices in San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C., with a potential hybrid/onsite schedule. A rigorous background in IP litigation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program (or declaration if in CA).
• Minimum of ten (10) years of law firm paralegal experience.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of IP litigation experience.
• Experience with PTAB, ITC, and/or Federal Circuit is preferred.
• Arbitration/trial experience is a plus.
• Appellate experience is a plus.
• Experience in Hatch-Waxman IP and life sciences IP litigation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and coordinate with case teams.
• Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, and production.
• Support validity and infringement contentions, Markman briefing, and related productions.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, exhibits, and discovery documents per court rules.
• Conduct IP research using USPTO databases, Google Patents, and other sources.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions with binders and interview memos.
• Organize materials for hearings and trials; provide on-site support; bluebook checks.
• Protect highly sensitive and confidential information.
