Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP seeks an experienced Paralegal to join its IP Disputes team in Austin. The role supports complex IP disputes and litigation, working with attorneys through all phases of case lifecycle, including arbitration and trial preparation, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or 9 years paralegal experience, strong litigation knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years paralegal experience in IP/litigation.
• Understanding of litigation procedures and patent-related filing.
• Experience managing large portfolios; strong MS Office skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Understand litigation motion practice, discovery, trial, and appellate procedures.
• Knowledge of ADR methods related to IP rights infringement.
• Read and understand technical patent/copyright/trademark literature.
• Assist with trial prep by drafting and organizing documents.
• Manage document files and discovery materials efficiently.
• Prioritize multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• E-file motions and pleadings, including after-hours filings.
• Ensure compliance with court rules and filing requirements.
• Gather patent documents from USPTO databases and research references.
• Conduct online substantive research and related admin duties.
