Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its IP Disputes team in a hybrid work environment. You will support complex intellectual property disputes and litigation matters, working with attorneys through all phases of the case lifecycle, including arbitration and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating within a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant paralegal experience
• In lieu of bachelor's degree, 9 years of paralegal experience
• Understanding of litigation procedures and patent-related procedures preferred
• Knowledge of USPTO post-grant filing procedure preferred
• Experience managing large volume portfolios
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels and external parties
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Willingness to work overtime when required

Responsibilities

• Understand litigation motion practice, discovery, trial, and appellate procedures
• Knowledge of ADR methods relating to infringement of IP rights
• Read and understand technical papers including patents, copyrights, and trademarks
• Assist with trial preparation by drafting and organizing documents
• Efficiently manage document files including correspondence and court papers
• Prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
• E-file motions and other pleadings, including after-hours filings
• Understand court rules and filing requirements
• Gather patent documents from USPTO databases and research technical references
• Conduct online substantive research and other administrative duties
